Software:
The set of instruction given to the computer to solve problem is called software.

Hardware:
The physical parts of computer is called hardware.The user can see and touch the hardware.Keyboard and mouise are examples of hardware.

1: System software.
2:Application software.


System software:
                              System software is set of programes to control and manages the operations of  computer hardware.It controls different hardware components.
It conrols the basic operations as follows:

1:Saving  data on disk
2:Making computer to work for us
3:Printing documents etc

Examples of system software:
1:Operating system 
2:Utility programes
3:Device drivers

Application software:
                                     Application software is used to perform various applications on the computer It helps the computer user to perform specific tasks.People use application software according to their needs.

There are two categories of application software.

1:Customized software:
                                                             It is the type of application software that is designed for particular customers.It is developed to meet the exact requirments of a particular customer.Customized software can developed by single programmer or team of programmers.It is expensive software.

Example:
                A software developed for a particular university is an example of customized software.

2:Package software:
                                   It is the type of application software that is developed for public.this software is used by everyone.It is less expensive.

Example:
